Yu-Gi-Oh!: Main Deck, Extra Deck and Side Deck in One Box
Three Piles, One Duelist
Yu-Gi-Oh! has a quirk that players of other TCGs rarely appreciate: a complete deck is not one pile, it is three. A main deck, an extra deck and a side deck, each with its own rules, its own role and its own moment. Three sets that must never get mixed up, unless you enjoy losing time at the start of every round, or drawing attention during a deck check.
Most storage boxes are designed for a single deck. A duelist needs a proper command post. Let us break down what that means, pile by pile.
The Main Deck: 40 to 60 Cards, the Heart of the Game
This is the pile you shuffle and draw from. The rules allow 40 to 60 cards, and most players stay close to 40 for consistency. It is also the pile that leaves and returns to the box at every game, so it deserves the most accessible spot.
The Extra Deck: Up to 15 Cards Always Within Reach
Fifteen cards maximum, face down, that only enter play mid-duel. The extra deck must stay separate from the main deck at all times, while remaining available at any moment of the game. A compact, precious pile, often the most expensive part of the deck.
The Side Deck: 15 Cards to Turn a Match Around
Matches are played best of three, and between duels you can swap cards from your side deck into your main or extra deck, keeping the totals unchanged. Those fifteen cards need to be findable in seconds, not buried at the bottom of a bag.
90 Cards at Most, 125 Slots in the Box
Do the math: 60 main deck cards at most, 15 extra, 15 side, which makes 90 cards in the heaviest configuration. Our deckboxes are built around a single universal internal format: up to 125 standard cards, double sleeved, in an internal volume of 76 × 68 × 98 mm. Even a fully loaded setup leaves room to spare for tokens and a few backup cards.
And since Yu-Gi-Oh! cards are slightly smaller than the standard format, they sit even more comfortably, including with serious protection on. Sleeve compatibility covers most brands on the market: Ultra Pro, Dragon Shield, KMC, Gamegenic, including double-sleeve setups.
A Battle Order That Never Moves
The secret to fast side decking is consistency. Give each pile its own place in the box: main deck at the front, extra deck in the middle, side deck at the back, and keep that order every round. You will always know exactly where to reach, even with the round timer running.
That only works if nothing shifts between tables. Our deckboxes use a snap-fit closure with no magnets on the lid: the cover locks mechanically onto the body of the box. No accidental opening in your bag between rounds, no magnet weakening over the years. Open with one motion, side deck, close again, and your three piles stay exactly where you left them.
A Box That Matches Your Strategy
Colors, Reliefs, Engraving
Eleven box colors, from white to black through the Starlight effects, configurable reliefs and optional lid engraving: everything you need to build a box that announces your style before the first draw. Shadowy and brooding, blazing gold or ruthlessly minimal, you decide it all in the Forge, our configurator with live preview, where you can even upload your own artwork.
Inksmith or Ironsmith
Two finishes to choose from. Inksmith, entirely hand painted, delivers a weathered, one-of-a-kind look: no two boxes are ever identical. Ironsmith, our premium full-color 3D printing, produces sharp contrasts and deep colors, perfect for a bold graphic style.
Proteus, for Duelists Who Switch Decks Between Events
Do you rotate strategies with the meta? Our modular Proteus deckbox was made for you: every face is a magnetic panel (N52 neodymium magnets) you swap without tools, plus sculpted 3D medallions for the front face. One base, one set of panels per deck, and your box changes face as fast as your game plan.
